The car pulled up in the driveway, as the adult and kids got out of the car the walked through the shimmering snow falling from above. They walked into the warm restaurant with bright red rosy cheeks. The kids ran over to their friend, while the adult was talking to the waiter and his friends. After the kids and adults settled in, the kids ran off to the breathtaking game room. There was everything from prize wheels to dinosaurs picking up candy and dropping it off in a small hole for the children to gather it. The tall kid went straight to the dinosaur, and the cooler kid went to the mountain game. The tall kid starting yelling, “I got binos from the Dino!” He was referring to a snap on bracelet that he had just won from the machine. The cool kid came running over to see his prize, he was so jealous, he had to get himself one too! He kept trying and trying. Finally on his last 50 cents out of five dollars, the Dino dove into a patch of candy. The kid Clamped the Dino's teeth together and the Dino pulled up some binos! All the other kids were hiding the machine trying to knock the binos out of the Dino's teeth, but the Dino stayed strong and held on to the binos. As they fell through the hole, the kid's face was as bright as the sun. All kids were as happy as could be, and they finished off the great night with great food. Everybody at the table had agreed that this had been one of the best nights of their life's, in a long time.
The palace - Noah Roberts
“BHMS 7th and 8th grade boys basketball, you are now dismissed from class, Please go to the student lounge.” My face filled with joy along with all the others in grey sweatshirts with white letters that said, “Lancers Basketball.” We got on the bus and zoomed to Auburn Hills in no time. “Hey look, it's the palace!” Yelled a seventh grader. I turned my head and saw the gigantic building, I was stunned and excited at the same time. We watched the 7th grade game, and then changed into our basketball stuff in the cheerleader's locker room. As I stepped foot on the court I thought about all the good players that have played here, my goal was to be as good as one of them today. The game went pretty good, I scored a few points. We stopped keeping score after a little bit because we were ahead by so much but the final score was probably 80 - 30. After our game we got to watch the pistons game, it was such a thrill, and really fun to watch with the team. Most of us left with 5 minutes left in the 4th to beat the traffic. When I got home our group chat was going crazy saying, “The Grizzlies hit a half court shot with one second left to win the game.” I was sad that I missed a good game, but kind of happy that I didn't have to watch the other team win the way they did. I texted in the group chat, “tonight was a good night, but we better be ready for derby tomorrow!”
Justin Clouds
The end of the day announcements woke me up, “football players will still have practice today, but all other sports are canceled.” I felt a jolt of energy rush through my body, rainy cold football practices are the best! I met Justin at his locker, and we ran down to the locker room. I slipped two more pairs of socks on over the ones I already had on, then I started to stack on shirts on top of another until I had three. Justin and I were ready to go out into the cold. As we arrived, we ran and did stretches, and then the real fun came. Me and Justin were standing next to each other along with the team listening to the coach. All I heard was one word come out of his mouth… Scrimmage!! Me and Justin lined up as tailbacks on the same team, as Connor snapped the ball, it suddenly started to hail. We were all having fun playing against each other, none of us wanted it to be over, the I heard the coach yell it's 5:20, ten more minutes! The score was all tied up and Justin and I were on offense. Conner called a 34 blast, which was a handoff to me. I saw an opening and I went right through it, my only problem now was the safety, I ran right over him. I saw jeremiah out of the corner of my eye, and he was coming in hot, along with the whole team, I almost got around all of them, but they eventually got me down at the five yard line. Coach put me in at full back to pound the ball into the endzone. Now we were up 7, five minutes left. We were on defense, and time was running out, they tried throwing the ball, and Brian picked it off, we win! Everybody jumped on top of Brian, yelling we win! We win!
